South West Sydney Legal Centre presents Family Law 101: Divorce and Parenting Arrangements.

This webinar is designed for community workers who assist individuals that may be going through, or are considering, a divorce or parenting arrangements. In this webinar, participants will be given an overview of Australian family law frameworks , court processes as well as non-court based processes. Our webinar is aimed at equipping community workers with a better understanding of their clients' legal needs and concerns.

Topics include:

  • Proving an irretrievable breakdown of marriage
  • Application to de facto relationships
  • Timeframes for divorce application
  • Court process for divorce
  • Rights of the children and parental responsibility
  • How to determine best interests of the child
  • Court and non-court based processes for determining parenting arrangements

Presenting this webinar will be Ms Anna Tran.

Anna commenced working at South West Sydney Legal Centre in September 2017 as a Senior Family Solicitor. She also provides advice in other areas of civil law. Prior to this, from 2013, Anna was practising Family Law in private practice and also volunteered with the Aboriginal Legal Service when she was studying law.

The webinar will be presented via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent via email to each participant prior to the scheduled webinar.

Each participant will also receive a copy of our presentation and a certificate of attendance after the webinar.
